Another mod for the ‘permanently loaded list’, is this retexturing of the various paintings, carpets and tapestries in all the building in the Province of Cyrodiil. This mod will replace the picture that is used to texture these objects, so you get new drawings on the paintings and different kinds of cloth or woven patterns for the tapestries. The textures are quite refreshing after having looked at all the standard ones in Oblivion for so long.

They are varied nicely, appropriately themed and vibrantly colored. The author (Franc) has chosen images for the paintings (some quite detailed) from various sources like tarot cards and artwork from artists like John Williams. I found the difference particularly noticeable in the guilds and in the shops in the Imperial City, where the people are wealthier and have more decorations in their houses.

 I was of course a little bit disappointed to find out there was only a tiny bit of nudity to be found in all those wonderful paintings. I really think some Playboy calendar would look just right in the smithy’s workshop, but maybe that’s just me. Overall I’d say this is a very nice mod which adds a little finishing touch to the already rich atmosphere of Oblivion.
