Bethesda have said they are releasing a mod kit for Fallout 3 very soon. It is called 'The Garden of Eden Creation Kit', also known as G.E.C.K.. It will allow creation and editing of buildings, landscapes, towns, and locations. Also you will be able to edit or write new dialogue, create characters, weapons, creatures, and more stuff ...
The best news over for the Fallout 3 modding community !!
Even though there is no editor released for Fallout, some people have managed to pull it off anyway. As predicted, these mods mainly apply to game mechanics (values changed so chems and stuff have slightly different effects) and texturing (game interface, armour textures, etc) since this is all possible without an editor, as it was in Oblivion as well.
I have uploaded some of the nicer mods for Fallout 3 on the site today, so you can all start downloading to your hearts content. Make sure to read the description or the accompanying readme.txt for installation details. Installing is a little more work since the game does not support mods by default (yet).
Some news is still going around that Bethesda will eventually realease a modding toolkit for us in the end, but I wouldn't put any money on that. It seems as though the modding community is left out in the cold for this one.
One easy way to increase skills in Fallout 3 is with the Bobblehead figurines found throughout the game. They are quite well hidden though, I myself think I'm about halfway through the game and have only found a few so far. Therefore I thought it would be a good idea to make a list of where to find them. Some of the information here is taken from other sources, I have not found all of them myself :) The ones I did find myself have the best detailed description though ....
Obviously I'll need help from all of you to make the list even more complete.
